Phillip Herndon is a product manager and digital strategist.

He leads product for Explorer Applications at National Geographic. Our products increase the impact of National Geographic’s scientists, storytellers and conservationists.  

Phillip has long led product and digital outreach for corporations, associations and nonprofits. He’s managed web projects and campaigns and teams for 83 of the Fortune 100, as well as nonprofits like the World Wildlife Fund and AARP.


Phillip was born in North Carolina and grew up across a good chunk of the East Coast, Kansas and Germany before he started college at the University of Virginia.

He lives in DC with his family.
