This is what I was talking about when I said:
I don’t want to see a newspaper doing a deal with a portal in which the portal is begrudgingly allowed to reprint the newspaper’s content. I want the newspaper to buy the portal and integrate the portal’s cutting edge technology into it’s homepage.
From CNet’s News.com:
Forbes Media announced Wednesday that it has officially acquired Clipmarks.com, a social news site that operates by enabling members to “clip” and share parts of Web sites rather than simply bookmarking them. … The acquisition will serve primarily to enhance Forbes’ online news content, apparently.
Pretty cool, huh?
Also, I was poking around and found My Times at the New York Times’ website. I like it, too. It’s an rss reader, on a newspaper’s website!
Now can we get some local papers to do this?
